Now open to all lecturers, join us for the encore presentation of one of the sessions offered at the Program Directors Event: “Ethics of AI: From Science Fiction to Science Fact” workshop. This session provides an introduction to some of the major themes in the ethics of AI through the lens of sci-fi movies.
We will watch a number of short clips to gain a better understanding of moral issues including privacy and surveillance, safety and control, emotional connection, and the unforeseen consequences of technological interventions. Taking fiction as a starting point to discuss real-world technological developments allows us to engage with some of the most pressing ethical concerns around AI on both an intellectual and emotional level.
